Scientism

Scientism holds that science is the basis of absolute truths and knowledge about

nature. Under scientism, everything that happens in nature must have a scientific theory to

prove by means of scientific facts. Hughes (2012) suggests that scientific methods involve

laws and experimentations of nature to produce testable, reliable, and factual data. Scientism

highly disregards philosophy, humanities, and social sciences, which are not constructed

using scientific evidence. In recent years, the work of scientists has focused on obtaining

facts that would describe what was previously regarded as a mystery. Thus, scientism may be

precisely described as a scientific worldview that covers natural explanations for paranormal

speculations and supernatural phenomena and embraces purpose and empiricism as pillars of

philosophy. Researchers believe that science interprets all life aspects under scientism and

that scientific methods are the only certain elements that dominate philosophy, social
