A rough draft is not expected to be polished, and as such, this assignment will be graded on a completion basis. However, in order to receive full credit for the assignment, the following components must be met:

  • Rough draft includes an introduction, a minimum of four body paragraphs, and a conclusion.
  • Body paragraphs include transitional statements and topic paragraphs.
  • A minimum of eight references are incorporated as support into the essays.
  • References are cited using correct APA formatting in both in-text citations (https://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/resource/560/02/) and a references page (https://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/resource/560/05/).
  • Furthermore, keep in mind the following tips as you draft your essay:
    • Ensure that you remain without bias in your essay and you fairly present both sides of the argument on your issue.
    • Do not write in first or second person (avoid the use of pronouns such as I, me, mine, we, us, ours, you, yours, etc.)
    • Be sure to revise your introduction and conclusion paragraphs based on the feedback you received on your Week 4 assignment.
    • Use the outline you posted for Week 3 as a guide, but if you find that changing some pieces makes more sense as you draft, that is fine.
    • Remember to use appropriate formatting as per APA (6th ed.): https://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/resource/560/0

Telehealth is conquering the healthcare sector and nursing homes should be on the frontline to incorporate Telehealth services in their daily provision of health care to the community. Telehealth touches on various perspectives that are important and very crucial when it comes to the aspect of public health. It is clear that telehealth is an essential aspect of the healthcare system and should be embraced fully and from the definition, it is evident that the benefits of telehealthcare outweigh its shortcoming and thus it is wise to adopt it in the advancement of technologies.

This paper seeks to look at the relationships between telehealth and nursing home by trying to answer the question is telehealthcare a good option for nursing homes?

The paper will describe some advantages of Telehealth that may also apply to nurse homes once Telehealth services are incorporated in the homes’ healthcare provision. Some of the advantages and benefits that will be included in this part are a reduction of costs, reduction of mortality rates in nursing homes, overcoming healthcare provision challenges, and improving wellness and quality of health care to patients served by nursing homes (Edmondson, 2017). In addition to this, it will also analyse the physicians and nurses who operate in nursing homes or facilities since they are expected to be the final executers of Telehealth in nursing homes. Physicians and nurses offer healthcare services to patients and cannot be exempted from the research paper (Wicklund, 2018).

Conclusion

In conclusion, it is crystal clear that the benefits of telehealthcare outweigh the shortcomings and thus this particular aspect should be embraced and be fully integrated into the health care system, therefore it is evident that the benefits of telehealthcare outweigh its shortcoming and thus it is wise to adopt it in the advancement of technologies

Discussion on Telehealthcare as a Cost-effective Great Option for Nursing Homes

Question 1: Reminder

I would like to remind all of you (my classmates) that I chose the topic regarding whether Telehealthcare could be a great option and cost-effective for nursing homes. This topic is important since Telehealth is conquering the healthcare sector and nursing homes should be in the frontline to incorporate Telehealth services in their daily provision of healthcare to the community.

Question 2: Types of background Information to include in the paper

I will include different types of background information in my paper in order to help my audience realize and fully understand the underlying problem.

Description and Purpose

The first part of background information will involve a short but precise description of my research topic. This part will also state the purpose of the research topic. The purpose aims to draw the attention of the audience.

Relationship between Telehealth and Nursing Homes

The second part of background information will include establishing a relationship between Telehealth and nursing homes. Telehealthcare is accompanied with various advantages and benefits to the healthcare sector. The paper will describe some advantages of Telehealth that may also apply to nursing homes once Telehealth services is incorporated in the homes’ healthcare provision. Some of the advantages and benefits that will be included in this part are reduction of costs, reduction of mortality rates in nursing homes, overcoming healthcare provision challenges, and improving wellness and quality of healthcare to patients served by nursing homes (Edmondson, 2017).

Question 3: Types of audiences interested in the topic

Some other background information will be a discussion of the different types of audiences that would be interested in the research topic. Three types of audiences that will be discussed are nursing homes, physicians, and residents of communities where Telehealth is to be introduced.

This part of background information will consider nursing homes since the research topic regards Telehealth and if it should be a great and great and cost-effective option for nursing homes. Therefore, it is a necessity to discuss some information concerning nursing homes.

Research topic: Should Telehealthcare be a great option and cost-effective for Nursing Homes?

Description and Purpose

My research topic regards how Telehealth can be a great option for Nursing Homes due to the cost-effectiveness attached to it. I chose this topic since I discovered that benefits attached to Telehealth can be used to improve nursing homes.

Telehealth helps nursing homes to reduce their costs. For instance, nursing homes that can adopt Telehealth can achieve cost effectiveness because Telehealth will reduce emergency transports which are extremely costly (Wicklund, 2018). Reduction of emergency transports will save some funds for nursing homes and therefore achieve cost effectiveness in their operations.

Telehealth will reduce the probability of mortalities that may take place in nursing homes. Telehealth is capable to provide real-time clinical support to patients. Thus, mortalities that may arise in nursing homes due to lack of real-time clinical support will be curbed if Telehealth is adopted.

Telemedicine helps nursing homes to overcome challenges they face when providing round-the-clock care for patients with complex medical conditions. Moreover, Telemedicine and Telehealth improve care management of nursing homes and reduce emergency transports.

Lastly, Telehealth and telemedicine can help skilled nursing homes to bring critical healthcare services to their residents. Therefore, it helps nursing homes to improve wellness outcomes, the quality of healthcare services and also reduces costly ER transports.

Types of audiences that would be interested in the topic

The three major audiences that would be interested in this topic include nursing care facilities, residents of communities where healthcare is available, and healthcare physicians.

Approaches to the different audiences concerning the Telehealth and Nursing Homes

The three different types of audiences will be approached in different approaches based on their knowledge of Telehealth.

Nursing Homes

Nursing homes will be approached using workshops which will provide knowledge on the cost-effectiveness that nursing homes will achieve after adopting Telehealth in their residents. The management of different nursing homes shall be taken through the concept of Telehealth by physicians already engaged in the program. Secondly, nursing homes will be attached to physicians with exemplary knowledge and skills on Telehealth who will assist the homes to incorporate Telehealth in their healthcare services. Engaging Telehealth with nursing homes will increase their support for the prog
