Create a narrated PowerPoint presentation of 5 or 6 slides with video that presents a comprehensive plan to implement the change you propose.

Your narrated presentation should be 5–6 minutes in length.

Summary of Results – Clark Healthy Workplace Inventory

The score from my workplace assessment was 27. The results from the assessment indicated that my organization’s workplace was unhealthy. The reason is the change of management, sudden changes introduced by the new management, and increased nurse turnover contributing to the nursing deficit (Clark et al., 2011). There is a lot of incivility Among the management, patient, staff, and co-worker. Also, the workplace lacks effective communication, which negatively impacts the workforce, patients, and the organization.

Identify two things that surprised you about the results. Also, identify one idea that you believed prior to conducting the assessment that was confirmed.

Before performing the Clark health workplace inventory, I perceived and rated my workplace as being mildly healthy. Clark health workplace inventory played an avital role in realizing that my workplace was rate was unhealthy. Also, another shocking thing about my workplace score was some of the response were true while other were considered not to be true. One key idea that was confirmed in the workplace inventory assessment is the lack of effective communication among the management team and the employees. Effective communication is considered as the fundament for success for any organization. Yet, the management fails to prioritize communications among their staff.

What do the results of the assessment suggest about the health and civility of your workplace?

The result from the assessment played a vital role in indicating that my workplace setting is very unhealthy. My workplace is currently dominated by incivility that has played a role in developing insubordination and hostility. The workplace environment is considered to be abusive and very toxic. That has also contributed to increasing nurse turnover, with a large number of nurses quitting with the first year of working with the organization.

The concept that emerges from the selected article is that authentic leadership and effective communication are fundamental for civility in any workplace organization. Work Environment Assessment is a practice or a process in which employees evaluate various factors within a workplace to ascertain how well the management supports and ensures that there is a conducive working environment for its workforce. Worth noting is that during Work Environment Assessment it is advised to assess how the company or organization one may wish to work with or still to work with operates in terms of its internal communication(Hargis, 2014). This provides clear knowledge of the extent to which employees are involved in organizational activities, particularly on the issues related to ongoing projects and other processes that are meant to improve the work climate in an organization. The essence of conducting a Work Environment Assessment is to help determine various components such as management style, type of leadership, employee recognition and rewards, organizational reputation, as well as employees’ training and career development programs so as to assess how the said component facilitates effective productivity through its employees.

From the review of my Work Environment Assessment, much was noted in terms of the workload, quality of care provided to patients, nurse patients ratio, management style, change management within the workplace as well as the existing mode of communication between the staff and the management(Hargis, 2014). After assessing the results obtained from the exercise, I can say that the score of my workplace was 27.
